Industrial visits bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience. As part of this objective, the CSE and IT students of Kongu Polytechnic College visited Kanavu Startup Village to interact with industry professionals, understand the startup ecosystem, and explore the opportunities available in today’s technology-driven world.
From Global Experience to Local Impact
The session began with an inspiring talk by our CEO, Karthi Easwaramoorthy, who shared his entrepreneurial journey. He spoke about his experience in the US, his return to India, and how he built TicketGoose, India’s first online bus ticket booking platform. He also shared why he chose to return to his hometown and establish Kanavu Startup Village.

One of the key messages of the session was that success does not always require moving to a metro city. By creating technology companies and career opportunities in smaller towns, talented individuals can build successful careers while contributing to the development of their own communities. His journey encouraged students to think beyond employment and consider entrepreneurship, innovation, and regional development.
Understanding the Technology Industry
The Tech Team Manager shared valuable insights into the current IT industry, the skills companies expect from fresh graduates, and the importance of continuously learning new technologies. Students learned that technical knowledge alone is not enough; problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and adaptability are equally important for long-term career growth.
Exploring Careers in Digital Marketing
After a short refreshments break, the Digital Team Manager introduced students to the fast-growing world of digital marketing. The session covered various career opportunities, industry trends, and the importance of building practical skills in areas such as content creation, social media, performance marketing, branding, and analytics.

An Interactive Discussion on AI and the Future
The visit concluded with an engaging Question & Answer session led by our CEO. Students actively participated and raised several thought-provoking questions.
One of the most interesting questions compared the impact of Artificial Intelligence to the introduction of calculators in mathematics. The discussion explored how AI, like calculators, is transforming the way people work and learn. Rather than replacing human intelligence, AI is becoming a tool that enhances productivity when used effectively.
Students also asked what knowledge and skills they should develop to stay relevant in the future. The discussion emphasized the importance of building strong fundamentals, staying curious, learning continuously, developing problem-solving abilities, and using AI as a productivity tool instead of depending on it completely.
Key Takeaways for Students
- Learn continuously and stay updated with emerging technologies.
- Build practical skills alongside academic knowledge.
- Develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
- Use AI as a tool to improve productivity, not as a replacement for learning.
- Think beyond getting a job—explore innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Remember that meaningful careers and successful technology companies can also be built from your hometown.
The industrial visit provided students with valuable industry exposure, practical insights, and inspiration to prepare for the rapidly evolving technology landscape. Kanavu Startup Village remains committed to connecting students with industry leaders and creating opportunities that empower the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
