Turning Support into Strength: Ananthi’s Journey to the Asian Championship

Ananthi, a 29-year-old para-athlete from Veerasangili, Sivagiri in Erode district, reached out to us through the kanavu.help social platform after learning about our community initiatives.

Despite being unable to walk since birth, Ananthi has overcome significant challenges through determination and perseverance. She has completed her BA and B.Ed degrees, earned a diploma for persons with disabilities, and has also served as a school teacher for seven months.

Recognizing her athletic potential, Coach Ulaganathan trained Ananthi in shot put, guiding her towards competitive sports. Through consistent effort and training, she has now earned the opportunity to participate in the Asian Championship, marking a significant milestone in her sporting journey.

However, financial constraints posed major obstacles. Essential requirements such as a wheelchair, sports equipment, nutritious food, and transportation support were beyond her means. In addition, her family has been facing long-term medical challenges, with her father undergoing treatment for kidney failure for several years

Through the collective support of donors via kanavu.help, the required funds were successfully raised and formally handed over to Ananthi. This financial assistance will be utilized exclusively for her sports training and competition-related needs.

kanavu.help continues to work with the mission of extending support across education, healthcare, sports, and emergency relief, ensuring timely assistance reaches those in need. With the continued support of our community, we believe that stories like Ananthi’s will rise to new heights and inspire many more.

We sincerely thank everyone who stood with us in making this meaningful initiative possible.
